The United States Social Security Administration’s payment schedule is a little different with each new month. The Administration announces the exact day of the payments so that retirees can know on which day they will receive their money. In total, the payment days are usually 5 different days. In September the rule of 5 different payment days is confirmed, although there are exceptions.
Within the Social Security payment days there is a small irregularity. The payment for retirees who have a pre-1997 benefit changes days completely. The usual for this group is to collect their check on the 3rd day of the month, but that does not happen in September. So we must pay attention to the calendar if we do not want to have certain economic problems during this month.
In any case, what is certain is that the Social Security Administration will send us our check. Regardless of what day of the month we get paid, we will end up getting paid. That is, if there is no problem with our benefit or our personal information. In short, we should check the payment schedule if we want to know on what day we will get our money.
SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENT SCHEDULE IN SEPTEMBER
Even though September has already begun, many retirees want to know on what day they will be able to collect their benefit. In this sense, there are retirees who can already count on this month’s money. However, most Social Security beneficiaries do not have the benefit yet, so they must wait to receive it.
Here is the complete schedule, including Supplemental Security Income, for Social Security payments in September:
- September 1st. There are two different checks on this day. The Administration sent out the September Supplemental Security Income checks and pensions for pre-1997 retirees.
- September 13th. Retirees with a post-1997 check and a birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month will receive their payment on this day.
- September 20th. Any citizen with a post-1997 Social Security payment and birthday between the 11th and 20th of the month will collect their pension.
- September 27th. Last pensioner payment of the month. This payment is for citizens with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of the month. Likewise, it is also mandatory to have the benefit since after 1997.
- September 29th. This is an irregularity in the calendar. The payment of this benefit is actually an advance payment for October. It is next month’s Supplemental Security Income.
If you activate Direct Deposit, the payment of these benefits will arrive immediately. If not, you will have to wait for some time to receive the money. It usually takes no more than 3 days for the Social Security check to arrive in your bank account.
