Each new month, the Social Security Administration sends different checks to different groups of retirees in the United States. And to find out at what time of the month we will have our monthly check available we just have to take into account the requirements for each of the payment days.
While it is true that we could get the new retirement check within just a few days, it could also turn out that we will not get it soon, but in the future weeks of May. Either way, if we have Social Security accepted we will get a payment in May without any problems.
How to get the Social Security payment for 67 year old retirees?
First of all, it should be noted that the next Social Security payments are not for all beneficiaries, but neither is there a specific age requirement. Likewise, it is also not necessary to collect the maximum Full Retirement Age check of $3,822 to collect the benefit.
The only requirement for the Social Security Administration to send us this new check is to have a benefit since before May 1997. With that requirement alone, the SSA will send our checking accounts the check on the 3rd day of May.
Two checks from Social Security in the first week of May
In addition to this May 3rd check, the Social Security Administration will send a different check in the first week of May. This check will be sent on the 1st of the month and getting it is only possible if we meet one requirement.
This requirement is none other than having Supplemental Security Income accepted. This extra payment gives the beneficiaries up to 943 dollars for their monthly expenses. If you have this benefit accepted, you will be able to get check before you even have your retirement payment for the month.
Remember that these posted days are the days when the Social Security Administration sends out checks. If we want to have the money available at the same time it is mandatory to have Direct Deposit activated as a collection method. If not, it will take about three days for the payment to be available in our checking account.
