The eligibility criteria for United States Social Security payments depends on two main factors. The first factor is the beneficiary’s year of retirement. The second factor is the beneficiary’s own day of birth. In total, there are four groups of retirees and these two criteria are critical in determining the day of collection.
In this regard, the June 3rd payment will be the first of the retirement payments. Therefore, we should take a good look at the eligibility criteria if we are expecting to get the Social Security payment on that particular day. If we do not have the payment on June 3rd, we will get the benefit on the following days of the month.
June 3rd Social Security Eligibility Criteria
Within the June 3rd, 2024 eligibility criteria we find that the payment on this day is only for beneficiaries prior to May 1997. This implies that if our benefit is later than that year, our retirement check will not arrive on that day, but in the weeks after.
Therefore, you can forget about June 3rd as this month’s Social Security collection day if you do not meet this requirement. However, there is nothing to worry about, since the benefit payment will still arrive on one of the remaining days of June.
Other Social Security payments in June
In addition to the June 3rd payment, the Social Security Administration will send other payments to retirees. However, the remaining payments are only for beneficiaries with a benefit after May 1997.
If your check started arriving in your checking account in May 1997 or some of the months after, you should consider the following days in June:
- June 12th. You must also have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month to collect on this day.
- June 18th. Retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th collect on this day.
- June 26th. Last Social Security payment of the month. The check on this day is for beneficiaries with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of any month.
Thanks to Direct Deposit, the money appears immediately in the beneficiary’s checking account. Therefore, just checking the day of collection is enough to get the money on this day. Otherwise, the Social Security money will appear in the days following this benefit.
