Thousands of retired citizens will be able to enjoy a $59 bonus from United States Social Security in the next week. In order to get one of these payments we must meet just a couple of requirements. And that is that the Administration will send the last of the January checks, so we only have to belong to the last group to get the monthly check.
However, the rest of the beneficiaries have nothing to worry about. Retirees of all ages may already have a check available as long as they have met the requirements of the previous groups. It is important to keep in mind the payment schedule for these benefits, since only in this way will we have full control over retirement payments.
At the end of the day, a retiree’s finances are largely dependent on the Social Security check. Therefore, if an American receives only this payment, he must know exactly on which day of the month the money is available. If they don’t, they could run into financial problems that mean they don’t have enough money to live the whole month with peace of mind. Do you already know if you belong to the last group of Social Security recipients?
Retirees who get Social Security next week
The last of the January Social Security payments will arrive on the 24th of the month for those who have activated the fastest payment method. That is, if we have activated Direct Deposit and we belong to this group of beneficiaries we will be able to get the payment with the average increase of $59 in just a few days.
However, the increase is not $59 for everyone, but each American has a different increase depending on the check he/she will cash in 2023. Your benefit increases 3.2% over last year’s check. All retirees get a raise and yours will depend on those factors.
Still, in order to collect the payment we will need to meet two requirements. January 24th payments will arrive to retirees with a post-1997 check and a birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month. After this payment day, the January calendar will end to make way for the February 2024 calendar.
February 2024 Social Security Calendar
Once the Social Security Administration sends the payment for the 24th of January, we can prepare for the February payment schedule. In this month we will have, as usual, four retirement payment days and one payment day for Supplemental Security Income.
These will be the payment days:
- February 1st. Supplemental Security Income payment.
- February 2nd. Retirees with a pre-1997 check are paid on this day.
- February 14th. Beneficiaries with a post-1997 check and birthdays between the 1st and 10th get paid on this day.
- February 21st. Beneficiaries with a post-1997 check and a birthday between the 11th and 20th get paid on this day.
- February 28th. Beneficiaries with a post-1997 check and a birthday between the 21st and 31st get paid on this day.
Remember that these are payment days. In other words, the Administration sends the payment to retirees on these days, but to get the money immediately we will need to activate Direct Deposit as a collection method. If not, the money will arrive anyway, but in the following days.
