Next week the first of the Social Security checks for retirees born after 1997 will arrive. This means that United States seniors who applied for their benefit after that year should be on the lookout to receive their benefit. In addition to the year of retirement requirement, an extra requirement must also be met.
Although this is the first of the checks for this group of retirees, this payment is not the first one Social Security has sent out in July. Last July 3rd it sent retirement checks to beneficiaries with a pre-1997 benefit. In addition to these two checks, the Administration will send two more checks during the month of July.
In this regard, the July Supplemental Security Income check should not be forgotten either. Although it has not been sent within the month, the payment belongs to the calendar for the seventh month of the year. The SSI money was sent out on June 30th to SSI recipients. Who will receive the next payment?
Requirements for receiving the next Social Security payment
We have already discussed one of the mandatory requirements to get the next Social Security payment. This requirement is none other than that you must have applied for the benefit after 1997. However, this is not the only requirement that retirees have to meet in order to get the next payment.
In addition to that condition, another mandatory condition must also be met. The other condition is that the retiree’s birthday must be between the 1st and 10th of the month. This is the first of the post-1997 Social Security group to collect check. If you meet the first of the requirements but not the second, don’t worry. The money will be in your pocket soon.
This group will collect their money on the 12th day of July. The remaining retirees will be divided into two separate groups. The first of these groups will consist of retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month. This group will cash their check on the 19th of July.
On the other hand, July 26th will be the collection day for beneficiaries with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of the month. This group will close the payment schedule for the month of July. After this payment, the Social Security Administration will send out additional checks in August.
