Getting a new Social Security check every month in the United States is a relief for Social Security recipients. But if we add to that the fact that sometimes we can find an extra check, the relief is even greater.
Among all the benefits that the Social Security Administration can send, we also find the Supplemental Security Income (SSI). This extra check is not the usual retirement payment, but is a payment that can be combined with the monthly disability or old age retirement benefit.
Sometimes we may find that the payment of this benefit arrives twice in some months. If this is the case, the beneficiary will be able to enjoy a very interesting benefit that will provide him/her with enough money to be able to have a higher standard of living. Even so, it is true that the moment we get one of these extra checks it means not getting the same check in the next month.
Who gets the extra Social Security payment in one hour?
The payment in question for this benefit will be on May 31st, 2024. This extra Supplemental Security Income check in May will be only for Americans who have the benefit accepted. If we do not have this benefit, we cannot get the extra check.
However, it is also important to choose the right collection method in order to get the check on time. It is true that the Social Security Administration will send this check on May 31st, but we may not get it until later if we do not have Direct Deposit activated.
Therefore, if we have the Supplemental Security Income benefit activated and have Direct Deposit as a collection method in just a few hours we will get a payment of up to $943. In this case, the SSI payment would not arrive in June, since Social Security only sends out one of these payments each month.
Remember that the amount of this check depends on the monthly income we have. The more monthly income, the less the SSI payment each month. Therefore, all recipients of this Social Security benefit have a different check, making each payment totally unique.
