Although the United States Social Security Administration will send out a new check later this week, some retirees will collect later. The Administration divides retirees into four different groups. Regardless of which group of retirees we are part of, we will get the money each month.
The only difference will be the day on which we have Social Security available. Likewise, the collection method we choose to receive the payment will determine whether we will get the benefit sooner or later. This, without a doubt, will determine whether we will have the money in time to pay the bills.
Knowing the schedule of payments is fundamental if our objective is to have greater control over our household economy. For that reason we must know if we will have available the new check on February 21st.
Only a specific group of Americans will get the Social Security of this next payment day. If we are not in this group, there is nothing to worry about. We can always get payment on one of the other three days the Administration sends out checks during the month.

The only two requirements that are mandatory to get the February 21st payment relate to personal information. On the one hand, the year of retirement is important. On the other hand, the day of birth is also important.

Combining both aspects we find ourselves with all the mandatory requirements to get this payment. In this sense, Social Security will send checks to retirees after 1997 (since May of that year) with birthdays between the 1st and the 10th of the month.
There is no other mandatory requirement to be able to collect this new check. However, we should also note that there is another requirement to be able to get the benefit on the same day the payment is sent. This other requirement is the collection method is taken.
Depending on the collection method we choose, we may or may not receive the payment on the same day it is sent. If we choose Direct Deposit, the Social Security will be in our pocket immediately. If not, the payment will arrive a few days later. The rest of the retirees will collect the benefit on January 28, provided they meet the requirements for that day.
