Throughout the year, United States Social Security offices remain open on a regular basis on weekdays. This means that on weekdays we find that we can do all kinds of paperwork at any of the offices. However, sometimes there are holidays that require us to do things differently.
Even so, the Social Security Administration offers alternatives to be able to continue consulting our documentation even on holidays and weekends. But we must also take into account that the mailing of checks may change a little because of these days when the offices are not open. In any case, it is necessary to say that there is nothing to worry or be alarmed about.
If you are waiting for a check and the day of payment is on a weekend, there is no problem. The Social Security Administration schedules annual payments in advance to avoid surprises of this type. For that reason, receiving payment on the agreed-upon day is possible. Because of this, any Social Security beneficiary will not encounter financial problems related to their check.
How does the June 19th deadline affect Social Security checks?
To tell you the truth, this particular day when the offices are closed does not affect the payments at all. This is because the Social Security Administration does not send out checks on June 19th. However, if that day were the third Wednesday of the month, for example, it would change the payment schedule a bit.
Even so, it is important to keep in mind that the Administration always foresees this type of possible changes in the calendars. And that is why it always announces well in advance the payment dates for retirements.
In this way, both the Administration itself and the retirement beneficiaries themselves can know on what day they will send and receive the money. So if your benefit is next week it will arrive, as usual, on Wednesday, if you meet the requirements.
When will the next retirement payment arrive?
The next payment day is Wednesday, June 21st. On this day, the Social Security Administration will pay the new check to only a select group of retirees. In order to receive the next day’s check, two requirements must be met:
- Have a birthday between the 11th and 20th of the month.
- To have your retirement accepted since after 1997.
Fulfilling only these two conditions is more than enough to receive the next payment. And remember that in case you want to receive the check as soon as possible, it is mandatory to activate Direct Deposit. If we do not activate this method of payment, the payment may arrive up to 3 days later. So activate Direct Deposit and forget about the possible delays you may have with the payment of your benefits.
After that payment there are two other payments within the June calendar. The other two payments are on the 28th, which is the retirement for the last of the groups. And there is a sixth check in this month, specifically on June 30th, which pertains to Supplemental Security Income for the following month.
