Regardless of which State in the United States we live in, the Social Security Administration sends checks to beneficiaries on the same day. Therefore, the Social Security payment schedule is the same for a citizen of California and a citizen of New York.
Being able to follow the schedule makes financial organization very easy for Americans. This is a great advantage, because no matter whether we are talking about the Supplemental Security Income payment or the retirement benefit, we will always know the day on which the Administration will send it.
Even though we know the day the Administration will pay the checks with the Supplemental Security Income cash, it does not mean that we know the day we will receive them. This is because the method of collection has a huge influence on the time the money reaches our pockets. But there is nothing to worry about, as there is a collection method that ensures we receive any Social Security check immediately.
How to collect Supplemental Security Income the fastest way?
Many years ago, U.S. citizens could cash their Social Security check through a physical check. The envelope with the check would arrive in their mailbox and they would have to go to their bank in order to receive the cash. Today this is no longer possible, as only two methods of collection can be used, with very few exceptions.
On the one hand, we have the deposit in a bank account. On the other hand, we have Direct Deposit. Both methods are equally safe and efficient, but one of these methods is much faster.
If we have Direct Deposit activated, the money will appear in our possession immediately. As soon as we send it to Social Security, we can receive the cheque without any delay. This is not the case with bank deposit, as it can take up to 3 days for the money to arrive. Therefore, Direct Deposit is by far the fastest way to cash any Social Security check.
When is the next Social Security SSI payment?
The next mailing of the Social Security Supplemental Security Income check will be in March. Also, in the next month we can see that there are two different days when we might receive this SSI check. Here is the full Social Security March calendar:
- March 1st. March SSI payment for the month of March.
- March 8th. First Social Security retirement benefit payment. Pensioners born between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- March 15th. Second payment of retirement benefit. Retirees born between the 11th and 20th of the month.
- March 22nd. Third and last retirement benefit payment. Pensioners born between the 21st and 31st of the month.
- March 31st. SSI payment for April 2023.
With this Social Security payment schedule we will also be able to know exactly when the checks are sent. If we have Direct Deposit activated, we will receive the cheque on the exact same day.
Whether we have Direct Deposit active or not, we will receive any of the checks from Social Security. We can also do this through a bank deposit, although it can take up to 3 days to arrive. Through My Social Security, you can check that your paperwork is properly written and that your checks will not arrive late.
