The Social Security Administration has now fully announced the schedule of payments for all United States benefits. As a result, beneficiaries can now know when they will receive Supplemental Security Income for the remaining months of 2023.
Therefore, we will be able to easily know in which months, due to calendar irregularities, we will not receive Supplemental Security Income. While it is true that there are months in which this payment does not arrive, this does not mean that we will receive less money in total.
The months in which the Administration does not pay a Supplemental Security Income check is because it is sent earlier. This is due to a scheduling irregularity. SSI payments are always made on the 1st of the month, with these exceptions.
So, when the 1st of the month is a weekend or holiday, the Social Security Administration sends SSI on the immediately preceding business day. And this irregular situation will occur in the following months of 2023:
- January.
- April.
- July.
- October.
At the moment, the months of January, April and July have already passed. So before the end of the year we will only have one more irregularity within the Supplemental Security Income payments. This irregularity month will be in October.
So to receive the October SSI payment the Administration will send it on the 29th day of September. The rest of the months, the Supplemental Security Income payment will be as usual.
