United States retirees can receive their last Social Security check for the month today. Beneficiaries with a post-1997 retirement can receive the check. In addition to that, you also need to have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month.
If you are in this group, today’s July 26th Social Security check is for you. If you do not receive it, you will have to claim the payment in order to receive your retirement amount as soon as possible.
When it comes to claiming the check, there are two main options. In most cases, doing these two actions is enough to claim the money from Social Security.
The first thing to do is to contact our bank. The bank could withhold our retirement check for several reasons. If we have debts, for example, the bank may withhold our Social Security. For that reason, before doing anything else, we should contact the bank.
If the bank does not offer us a solution to our problem, then we will contact the Social Security Administration. We can do this by telephone or by going directly to one of the offices.
Even so, before claiming anything we should check that all our data is correct. Both at the bank and at the Social Security Administration, our data must be up to date.
If we access My Account we will be able to see what data we have entered. If they are not up to date, we must change them.
Finally, if we activate Direct Deposit we will be able to have the Social Security check at the same time it is sent. This will make delays no longer exist and the retirement check will arrive without having to wait a single day.
