Payments from the Social Security Administration follow an established Supplemental Security Income payment schedule. This means that each month, the beneficiaries of this type of benefits in the United States can perfectly control the income they have each month.
However, it is true that sometimes we can find certain irregularities in the schedule. And through these irregularities we may find that the Supplemental Security Income payment arrives twice. In that case, we can congratulate ourselves, since having two checks of this benefit in the same month is an advantage.
However, it is true that when we get Supplemental Security Income twice in the same month, we do not get extra money, but the money in advance. For this reason, we must calculate well the budget we have every month. If we don’t do this well, we could have financial problems in the future.
Double Supplemental Security Income check in May
In order to have a clearer idea, we should keep in mind that in the less of May we have two different Supplemental Security Income payments, but one of them belongs to June. However, we will not have any problems when it comes to getting the payments, since our benefit is the same as usual.
Taking this into account, the days on which we can get these May payments are as follows:
- May 1st. May 1. Payment of Supplemental Security Income for the month of May.
- May 31st. SSI payment for the month of June. The payment arrives early because June 1st is a weekend.
The payment on both days will be the same amount. But it is true that within the month of May we will find ourselves with double the Supplemental Security Income, something very advantageous to pay bills and any other expenses that we usually have.
Also, remember that the Social Security retirement or Disability payment is compatible with the Supplemental Security Income, so we will be able to find both SSI payments and the usual retirement payment on the corresponding day.
