If you are part of the last group of United States citizens to receive a Social Security check each month, you could have it in your pocket in as little as 24 hours. This last of the monthly checks is only for a specific group, so we need to look at the requirements to prove that we are part of this group.
If we are not part of this group, the money should already be in our checking account. The Social Security Administration has already sent out checks to the rest of the beneficiaries. Since this is the last of the groups, even beneficiaries from previous groups who did not activate the faster collection method should already have their money.
Those Americans who are not in the 24-hour Social Security payment group and have not yet received a payment should claim their checks as soon as possible. Payments have already been sent out in full, so it makes no sense that some Americans would not have their money today. What retired worker group do you belong to?
How can you get your Social Security within 24 hours?
There is only one way for the Social Security Administration to send us this retirement check. And that way is to be in retired worker group number 4. Each retired worker group collects its benefit on a different day, and the next day’s benefit is for that particular group.
In order to be part of retiree group 4, we must take into account that two mandatory requirements must be met. These requirements are:
- Have a benefit since after 1997. This means that if our Social Security began before that year, we will not receive the next day’s payment.
- Have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month. All retirees who have birthdays between these dates and meet the above requirements will be paid within a few hours.
As far as the birthday is concerned, the important thing in these cases is to have the date of birth between these days, but the month of birth does not matter. Similarly, the year of birth is not important. Only the days are important to determine whether or not we are part of a group of retirees.
The rest of the beneficiaries should have received their payments by now. The Social Security Administration will send the final payment to beneficiaries with the above requirements on January 24. This payment will include the 2024 COLA, so it will be larger than the 2023 benefit.
Next Supplemental Security Income Payment
If you receive Supplemental Security Income benefits, you may also be receiving a check very soon. This new payment will arrive on February 1, but only for beneficiaries who have already accepted the benefit. You do not have to be retired from Social Security to receive this additional payment.
The general requirements for Supplemental Security Income are twofold:
- Be 65 or older or have a disability.
- Have low monthly income and resources.
If we meet these two requirements, we may be able to get the payment. However, we must apply to Social Security in a timely manner, because if we are in the process of being approved, we will have to wait a little longer to get it the first time.
