Social Security beneficiaries who are waiting to get a new check from the United States Administration should take a good look at the April payment schedule. That’s because this calendar is about to end, which means that beneficiaries who are ineligible for the new payment may have problems of some sort.
If your retirement payment has not arrived and you are not in Group 4 of Social Security beneficiaries, you may have to claim your benefit. The April calendar payments end in just a few days, which means there are no more payments of these benefits until next May 2024.
Who gets the last Social Security benefit for April 2024?
The eligibility criteria to be part of the group that gets the last of the April 2024 Social Security payments has two requirements. If we meet both requirements, we are in the retiree group. If we do not, we are in a different group of beneficiaries.
The two criteria in question are:
- Have a Social Security benefit as of May 1997.
- Have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month.
With these two conditions, Americans can access the April 24th payment. After this payment there will be no new payments in the month of April. So if you have not gotten your retirement check by then, you will have to claim your late payment.
How do I claim my back Social Security payment?
In order to claim your late check for retirement we have two main ways. The first is through the bank. The second way is through the Social Security Administration. We cannot use the second one without having used the first one.
Most of the time, Social Security checks are withheld by our bank. If this is the case, the bank should help us solve the problem. Sometimes it can happen that the bank holds the money because we have debts or for some other reason.
If our bank does not know how to help us or provide a solution, Social Security should definitely help us. So in that case we should go to one of the offices or call by phone to find out what is happening with the monthly benefit.
