Within the Social Security benefits in the United States there are many different benefits for various user groups. It is true that many of these different benefits fall into the same category, but in a different division. One such benefit is the disability benefit, which shares a category with the retirement age pension. These two benefits are sent on the same day, although the amounts are usually different. In addition to this, each of these pensions has different requirements. The usual rule is that they cannot be combined, but there are exceptions that do allow it. However, these exceptions are very small.
Taking into account that these Social Security payments are the same but with different beneficiaries, we can say that both age pensioners and disabled users collect the same days. The only difference, in this sense, is the final amount. Despite the fact that the maximum retirement age pension is $4,194 in 2022, it is usual that no retiree will reach that figure. On the other hand, Social Security Disability Insurance has a maximum of $3,345 per month. Both limits are very high and very difficult to reach.
As a result, the usual benefit is much lower. Regardless of what benefit a retiree or person with a disability has, on the 9th day they could receive their pension. The only requirement a retiree must meet to collect his or her benefit tomorrow, the second Wednesday in November, is to have a birthday between the 1st and 10th. It does not matter if the birthday is in November, May or April. What is important in this case is only the day of birth and not the month as such.
Social Security payments
In addition to this payment we have previously discussed, Social Security will send other different payments to retirees and people with disabilities. They are not another different payment in a different category, but the same type of payment, but in a new mailing. These new mailings pertain to the month of November.
- November 9th. First Social Security payment for retirees and persons with disabilities. This payment is for persons born between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- November 16th. Second SSA payment in November for retired seniors and persons with disabilities. These checks are for people born between the 11th and 20th of the month.
- November 23rd. Third SSA payment of the month. The payment is sent by Social Security to those born between the 21st and 31st of the month.
