Social Security Disability Income recipients in the United States could have an extra check on August 1st, 2023. This extra check is not for all Americans. Several requirements must be met in order to get this benefit in the next week.
Thus, Social Security Disability Income retirees could receive this payment if they have accepted the Supplemental Security Income. This extra payment of up to $914 is the SSI benefit for August.
But in order to get the benefit, it is mandatory to be in the group of retirees who have it accepted. If the Social Security Administration has not yet accepted our check, we will not be able to receive it during this day.
Therefore, not only must we apply for the Supplemental Security Income payment, but we must also have it accepted. This is the only way retirees with Social Security Disability Income can receive that particular check.
Who can receive the extra Social Security Disability Income payment?
This Supplemental Security Income check has two requirements. The first of these requirements is age 65 or older. However, this requirement can be changed to having a disability. For that reason, Americans with a Social Security Disability Income may apply for this check.
The other requirement is related to the economic level. In order to apply for this monthly payment, it is mandatory to have a low income level. It is also necessary to have limited resources.
If all these requirements are met, we will be able to receive the check on the 1st of August. However, it should also be noted that in order to receive this benefit, the Social Security Disability Income beneficiary must activate Direct Deposit. If not, the 1st of August check will arrive a few days later.
Other Social Security payments in August
The Supplemental Security Income benefit is not the only benefit coming to Social Security Disability Income retirees. In addition to that payment, the Administration will send other checks to different groups of retirees.
The first of these checks will be on August 3. This check will be only and exclusively for Americans with a benefit prior to 1997. If you have a benefit from after that year, you will have to wait a few days for the money to be counted.
The Social Security Disability Income checks for post-1997 retirees will arrive on August 9th, 16th and 23rd. These checks will arrive to the different groups depending on the birthday of each citizen.
On the first of these days, retirees born between the 1st and 10th will receive the benefit. The third Wednesday of the month is for retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month. Finally, the payment on the 23rd of August is for beneficiaries with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of the month.
