The start of a new month is always a time of good news for United States Social Security beneficiaries. Millions of retirees are just hours away from getting a check for up to $4,555 in Social Security benefits.
Regardless of the amount of our check we can get it in the next day. The only thing we have to meet is a requirement. Likewise, the type of benefit does not matter in order to determine whether or not we will get the new check.
Still, not all Americans can enjoy this check; only one group of retirees will be able to enjoy this new benefit. And it is precisely this group that has been waiting for the new check for longer than usual, since due to a calendar irregularity they got their September payment earlier. Will you receive this new Social Security payment?
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE NEW SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENT
Retirees who want to get the new October Social Security benefit must meet only one requirement. This benefit will be only the first of this month, as the Administration will be sending more benefits in the coming weeks.
The mandatory requirement if we want Social Security to pay us the new check is to have had the benefit since before 1997. Other than that there is no other mandatory requirement. However, in order to get the payment on the same day it is sent, it is necessary to have Direct Deposit activated.
The Social Security Administration will pay checks to this group on the 3rd day of October, as is customary in these cases. So just by fulfilling this requirement we will be able to enjoy the new retirement check, regardless of the type of retirement we have.
OTHER RETIREMENT PAYMENTS IN OCTOBER
This is only the first of the checks that the Social Security Administration will send out in the weeks of October. In addition to this payment, the administration will send out 3 different ones. Each of these checks has mandatory requirements.
These are the days and requirements for each of these Social Security payments:
- October 11th. Payment for post-1997 retirees with birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- October 18th. Retirees with a birthday between the 11th and 20th may collect Social Security on this day. It is also necessary to have the benefit since after 1997.
- October 25th. Last payment of the month. Retirees with birthdays between the 21st and 31st and the benefit after 1997 will cash this check.
After this payment there will not be another payment within October, so retirees will have to wait to get Social Security until November. Also, in the November calendar, we will again have 4 days of payments for retirees and one more payment for Supplemental Security Income.
