Social Security Administration announces next payments – Are you on the list?

In order to receive the next check from the Social Security Administration, there is only one requirement related to the date of birth

Millions of Americans to get new SSA payment - CANVA

A huge group of retirees in the United States will receive the new Social Security payment in just a few days. Not all American pensioners will be able to receive this check, as the Social Security Administration sends payments to different groups on different days of the month. In this sense, all retirees always receive their retirement benefit, but not all receive it on the same day.

Some retirees receive their check in the second week of the month. Other pensioners receive their benefit in the third week of the month. Finally, another group of pensioners receive their retirement check in the fourth week of the month. To find out what day we receive our Social Security checks we only need to check our date of birth. With that information we can find out what day Social Security will send us our check.

The next of the Social Security checks will be on the 11th day of January. That check is the first disability or age retirement check of 2023. This implies that this check has the COLA of 2023 added to the amount. For that reason, the check money has gone from $4,194 to $4,555, up 8.7% from last year.

Other Social Security payments in January 2023

The upcoming January 11th payment is not the only one the Social Security Administration will send in the first month of the year. Aside from this payment, the SSA will send two other different payments to retirees born on a different set of days. The first of these payments, as mentioned above, is for retirees born between the 1st and 10th of the month.

On the other hand, on the 18th of January, retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month will receive their new retirement check. Finally, the third group to receive their check in January 2023 is pensioners born between the 21st and 31st of the month.

This calendar is repeated every month on a constant basis. With this information, any retiree can know on which day each month they will collect their new Social Security retirement benefit check.

What is the fastest way to collect the pension?

Social Security payments reach retirees on the same day that the Administration sends them if they have previously activated Direct Deposit. This method of payment is not mandatory, but it does have a great advantage.

If Direct Deposit is not activated, the Social Security check could take up to 3 days to reach the pensioners’ bank account. Therefore, the fastest way is Direct Deposit, although the final decision is up to each user.
