After the Christmas and New Year’s holiday season, United States citizens need to get back on track financially, especially retirees who have a Social Security benefit. In this regard, there is no better way to do so than to know in advance the days on which the Social Security Administration will send checks to retirees, regardless of whether they are disability or retirement age.
During the month of January, the Social Security Administration will send checks on the second, third and fourth Wednesday of the month, as usual. Thus, next month, which is the month we are talking about now, February, the exact same thing will happen. The important thing in this area is to know the days exactly.
Having a calendar in front of you, it is easy to know which day each retiree will be paid. Remember that Social Security divides retirees into three different groups. These groups are differentiated from each other by date of birth, not by type of retirement. Therefore, it does not matter if the retirement is for disability or age, and it does matter the day of the month on which each retiree was born.
When will I receive my Social Security check in February?
In the month of February, the Social Security Administration will send out pension checks on the following days:
- Second Wednesday of the month. In February it will be the 8th day of the month. On this day, retirees born between the 1st and 10th of the month will receive their benefits.
- Third Wednesday of the month. The 15th of February. The Social Security Administration will send pension checks to retirees born between the 11th and 20th of the month on this day.
- Fourth Wednesday of the month. Retirees born between the 21st and 31st of the month will receive their benefits on the 22nd of February.
Knowing the days on which Social Security will send checks makes household financial arrangements much easier.
Other SSA payments in February
In addition to the retirement and disability benefit payments, the Social Security Administration will send out Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments in February. This payment will be made to a group of people in financial need.
The SSI check will arrive to the beneficiaries on the 1st of the month. To find out if we can apply for this benefit, we can check through the BEST tool. Once we have the benefit accepted, we will receive it every month through Direct Deposit or bank account deposit. The method of receiving payments is entirely at the retiree’s option.
