One of the big differences between SNAP Food Stamps and other financial help checks in the United States, such as Social Security, is the mailing days. Each state sends out Food Stamps on different days. Therefore, each state is totally individual when it comes to sending benefits.
Social Security arrives on the same day for all beneficiaries in the different groups. But SNAP Food Stamps are not like that, but depending on the State we live in, we may get the check earlier or later. Likewise, there are differences within the State itself.
Some States pay this benefit check on the first working day of the month. Other States pay checks later and on different days and there are some that are sending SNAP Food Stamps throughout the month.
Therefore, if we have to get Food Stamps, we should take a good look at our State’s payment schedule, as it is key to making our household financial arrangements work smoothly. Which State will still be able to send the checks?
STATES THAT STILL SEND OUT SNAP FOOD STAMPS CHECKS IN DECEMBER
As we have already mentioned, SNAP Food Stamps can send checks throughout the month. For that reason, we may see the State we live in on that list even if we have already gotten a check for January.
Here is the list of States that can still send a new check in December 2023:
- Alabama: December 4 to 23
- Delaware: December 2 to 23
- Florida: December 1 to 28
- Georgia: December 5 to 23
- Illinois: December 1 to 10 and older cases December 1 to 20
- Indiana: December 5 to 23
- Kentucky: December 1 to 19
- Louisiana: December 1 to 23
- Maryland: December 4 to 23
- Michigan: December 3 to 21
- Mississippi: December 4 to 21
- Missouri: December 1 to 22
- New Mexico: December 1 to 20
- North Carolina: December 3 to 21
- Ohio: December 2 to 20
- Tennessee: December 1 to 20
- Texas: December 1 to 28
- Washington: December 1 to 20
However, if you live in a State that is not on the list and you have not yet gotten your monthly SNAP Food Stamps payment, you have nothing to worry about. The payment could be on its way, so wait a few days before claiming.
The best thing to do to make sure we have the money available is to check the EBT card balance. This can be done at USDA Food Stamp program locations.
