In the payment of Social Security benefits in the United States, the Administration always follows a fixed schedule. Although it is true that the fixed schedule is repeated month after month, sometimes there may be certain irregularities.
Among these irregularities we find that sometimes the second payment arrives in the second week and sometimes it appears in the third week. This causes some beneficiaries to receive their Social Security payment much later than usual.
The significance of this is enormous when you consider that many retirees live on retirement benefits alone. Even so, what is certain is that the Administration sends the payments equally every month. With this in mind, we should also know that there are still more payments in the month of September.
And not only that, but those payments will also arrive later than usual. Therefore, in this month, more than any other, we should pay attention to the Social Security payment schedule, which even though it has already started still has many different checks to send out.
WHO CASHES THE SECOND SOCIAL SECURITY CHECK IN 5 DAYS
Within five days the Social Security Administration will send the next of the checks to retirees with the benefit already accepted. However, there are some requirements to be met if we want to get the next of these payments.
In order to get this payment, two conditions must be met. The first is that our benefit must be asked after 1997. The second of these requirements is that the pensioner’s birthday must be between the 1st and 10th of the month.
Also, in order to be able to receive the payment on the day of payment, it is also good to have Direct Deposit activated. In this case, the check will arrive immediately to the retiree’s bank account on September 13th, i.e., the same day it is sent.
OTHER PENSIONER’S CHECKS IN SEPTEMBER
After the 13th day payment the Social Security Administration will send two more checks to retirees. It will also send out a separate check for the Supplemental Security Income benefit.
Retirees can get their checks on the 20th or 27th of September. On the first of these days, retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month will receive their check. On the second of these days, retirees born between the 21st and 31st of the month will be able to receive their benefits. To belong to both groups, it is also mandatory to have the benefit after 1997.
Finally, the 29th of September will be the day on which the October Supplemental Security Income will be paid. This earlier payment is due to the fact that October 1st is a weekend. For this reason, the Social Security Administration advances the payment to the last working day.
