The schedule of disability benefit payments for United States Social Security beneficiaries follows a schedule that all Americans can easily follow. With just a glance at the schedule, we can find out if we have access to a payment in the next few days.
Most retirees are usually paid on a Wednesday of the month. Therefore, for some it is strange that on the 29th of November, the last Wednesday of the month, there are no disability benefit payments.
While it is true that some retiree could collect check today this payment would be a delayed benefit. The truth is that the Social Security Administration will not be sending out new checks on this November 29th for a very important reason. So if you were expecting to get a payment this week, you should know that this will not happen.
All Social Security payments have already been sent out in November. Therefore, retirees on disability or otherwise who have not already received a check should claim in the event one is not available.
WHY NO SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY PAYMENTS IN NOVEMBER 29TH?
The reason there is no Social Security payment on November 29th is very simple. If we look at the payment schedule there are always 4 different payments during the month. In these payments we must always keep in mind that the first day is for retirees prior to 1997. This day is usually the 3rd day of the month, with some exceptions.
In addition to that day there are three more days of payments. These other days are for post-1997 retirees. The Social Security Administration sends these payments on the second, third and fourth Wednesday of the month. Since November began on a Wednesday, the 29th is the fifth Wednesday of the month, making payment on the 29th impossible.
Therefore, this month’s payments went out from the Social Security Administration in the direction of beneficiaries with a disability and other benefits on the 3rd, 8th, 15th, and 22nd. Each of these days was payment for a different group of retirees.
HOW TO CLAIM A LATE SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENT?
In the event that you did not get the payment in the previous weeks you may need to claim the benefit. There are two ways to do this. And we cannot choose to do the second way without having done the first one.
To begin with, we must contact our bank. The bank can withhold payment for many different reasons. For that reason we must first contact the bank and ask if there are any problems getting our Social Security disability check.
If the bank does not help or offer us a solution then we should contact the Social Security Administration directly. But this should only be done if we have already spoken to the bank, as they are the first place to go.
