To ensure that all citizens can celebrate Thanksgiving, Sheetz has reduced unleaded fuel prices 88.
The gas rebate currently stands at $1.99 per gallon and will be in effect at all stations offering 88 unleaded gasoline, covering about two dozen Sheetz locations in Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon and York counties.
According to a press release from the company, the “limited time offer” will be available to those who visit the gas station chain from Monday, Nov. 20 through Monday, Nov. 27 at 11:59 p.m.
The release notes, “Unleaded 88 has gotten approval from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for use in all cars, trucks and SUVs manufactured in 2011 or later.” It further notes that “Unleaded 88 gasoline burns cleaner and reduces toxins, making it a more environmentally friendly option.”
Gasoline prices plunge in the run-up to Thanksgiving
Sheetz has conducted various discount deals in the past, as noted by the gas station’s regular customers. Previously, PennLive reported on how the company offered gas at $1.776 per gallon for the Fourth of July (for specific fuel types) and, in addition, provided free car washes and food for veterans and active-duty military members on Veterans Day this year.
Overall, gas prices during Thanksgiving are expected to be the lowest since last winter. A sizable increase in both highway and air travelers is also expected this year.
“Average gas prices have seen a notable decline in all 50 states in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, and $2.99 prices have been widely extended just in time for the start of the holiday season,” says GasBuddy. “Drivers will save more than $500 million from Wednesday through Sunday compared to what they spent last Thanksgiving. The national average is at its lowest level since January.”
