Can I Draw Social Security at 62 and Still Work Full Time?

What do you do if Social Security tells you to pay back benefits you have already received?

Social Security payments always have a fixed date for all retirees in the United States. Through this method, any U.S. citizen with a pension can perfectly control his or her household finances. And it doesn’t matter if the retiree is on disability or age. What matters in these cases is having an accepted benefit.

However, it is good to remember that controlling this information is fine, but collecting only the benefit is not the best idea for living comfortably. It is better to have some other source of income to help pay all the bills. The maximum Social Security benefit in 2022 is $4,194, but it is unusual for retirees to have a check that high.

The average payment here is $1,666 per month. This is what Social Security pays per month in average pay. It does not mean that retirees receive this payment, as it is usually even higher. In any case, most families do not have enough with this income, although it is always good news to receive it.

Next December 14th, retirees will receive their benefit, although only a group of them. Social Security sends the checks in a staggered manner so that there are no problems with the mailings. Are you in the group that will receive the payment on the next mailing date?

Social Security Payments in December

The 14th of December is the day the Social Security Administration will send payments to the first group of retirees. This group of retirees is composed of pensioners born between the 1st and 10th of a month.

But that is not the only December payment day. The SSA will send out other different payments this month. These payments will be on the 21st and 28th of December. Each of these days are scheduled for different groups of retirees.

In this regard, the 21st is for retirees born between the 11th and 20th of the month. As for the 28th day of December, the Social Security Administration will pay the pension to retirees born between the 21st and 31st of a month.

To avoid confusion, it is good to clarify that the pension payment day does not depend on the year of birth, but only on the day. Nor does the month influence the day on which the pensioner collects his or her benefit.

Maximizing your pension payment

To get a bigger Social Security check, you can do three different steps.

  • Work for many years.
  • Apply for retirement late.
  • Have a good salary as a worker.

By maximizing these three details, your Social Security benefit check will be larger. Although it is good to remember that we can achieve this as long as we have not already applied for the benefit. If we start collecting the pension, there is no turning back.
