New Supplemental Security Income payments will not be coming soon to beneficiaries in the United States. This Social Security benefit arrives, on a regular basis, only once a month and eligible Americans have already gotten this benefit in March.
Since there is no irregularity, those Americans who have an accepted benefit will be able to get one of these checks in April. This means that we have to wait more than half a month before we can enjoy a new Supplemental Security Income check.
However, there is nothing to worry about, since the scheme is business as usual, which means that Americans do not have to wait extra time. In this regard, we should wait because we have already gotten the March payment. If we did not get our Supplemental Security Income check in March, we should claim it from Social Security.
When does the new Supplemental Security Income arrive?
The next Supplemental Security Income payment will arrive on April 1st, 2024. This payment will be the fourth in the current year. It is also important to note that it is not necessary to have received the previous checks in order to get this new payment.
So we will still have to wait until April 1st to collect this payment. However, we will not get the payment on April 1st if we have not activated Direct Deposit. This collection method is immediate, which makes it much faster to receive the money.
Remember that the maximum Supplemental Security Income benefit is $943, but this does not mean that we all get the same check. The payment will depend on each recipient’s individual situation.
How do I get SSI from Social Security?
In order to get the Supplemental Security Income payment each month we need to be eligible. And the eligibility criteria for this Social Security benefit includes two different requirements.
On the one hand, you must be 65 or older or have a disability. On the other hand, it is necessary to have low resources, as well as low monthly income. This is the only way to have access to this final payment.
The monthly amount of the check will depend on the monthly income we have. Although the maximum of $943 is not for all beneficiaries, the truth is that our Supplemental Security Income check could be close if we have low monthly income.
