The Social Security Administration (SSA) announces every year the payment schedule for retirement, disability (SSDI or SSI), and other benefits. Those who have a close look at the paydays will find out that there are no Supplemental Security Income checks in October.
Even if it is not scheduled to be paid in October, you may have received it on September 29, 2023. Therefore, you received your SSI money two days before it should have reached your bank account.
Then, you are not going to receive your SSI check in October because you got it in advance. By now, you must be wondering when your next Supplemental Security Income is coming next.
WHEN IS THE NEXT SSI PAYMENT FROM SOCIAL SECURITY?
As a matter of fact, you will receive your next Supplemental Security Income payment on November 1. Generally, the Social Security Administration pays those beneficiaries on SSI on the first day of the month.
Of course, there are some exceptions if the first day of the month is Saturday or Sunday. Another exception is when there is a holiday like New Year. That implies that there will be two checks during the month of December.
Do not waste your money when you see you have received two SSI payments. It is not a bonus or an additional payment, it is your check that was due in January. When it comes to amounts, it will depend on your income and resources.

That is, if you rely on other benefits like retirement or SSDI. Or if, for example, you have some or no money in your bank account. Currently, the maximum amount an individual can receive from SSI payments is $914.
Thanks to the Cost of Living Adjustment for 2024, there will be a 3.2 percent increase. Therefore, Supplemental Security Income beneficiaries may receive up to $943 in 2024,
These amounts are larger for married couples in both 2023 and 2024. So far, eligible married couples can collect up to $1,371. From December 29, married couples that qualify may cash up to $1,415.
If you are an essential person and also qualify for the Supplemental Security Income, your amount is much lower. It can be up to $458 in 2023 and up to $553 in 2024. Watch the SSA video to make an appointment to apply for SSI.
