If you are expecting to get a new Social Security check in March, you should know that the Administration will not be sending out new payments. Any retirees in the United States will have to wait until April for a new payment.
However, if we meet certain requirements, we could still get the last of the March payments. But in reality this would be a late payment from Social Security and not a new check sent by the Administration.
In any case, the important thing is to know the payment schedule for the next Social Security checks. This calendar is very easy to follow and thanks to it we will be able to know perfectly on which day of the month we will have the monthly payment.
Also, if we add the Direct Deposit collection method to this information, we will always be able to mark on the calendar the time of the month when we will get each of the retirement payments. It’s simple and easy to understand.
Social Security payment schedule for April 2024
In total, the Social Security Administration will send five different checks on five different days to retirees in the United States. Mind you, of those five checks, only four of them will actually be for retirees as such.
There is one extra check that is only for Supplemental Security Income recipients, a type of extra benefit that is only for Americans who meet specific requirements.
To get a clearer picture, let’s look at the day on which we can collect these payments in April:
- 1st April. Supplemental Security Income payment.
- April 3rd. Social Security payment for retirees prior to May 1997.
- April 10th. Only retirees with birthdays between the 1st and 10th of the month with a post-1997 retirement can get payment.
- April 17th. Retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of any month with a post-1997 retirement check may collect this payment.
- April 24th. To get this benefit, it is necessary to collect the Social Security payment from after May 1997, as well as have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month.
Remember that these are the days when the Social Security Administration sends checks. However, if we want to get them on the same day they are sent, we will need to activate Direct Deposit, the fastest collection method of all, since it is instantaneous.
