If you have an active Social Security benefit and have not yet received a payment, there is good news for you. It all depends on which group you belong to.
If you haven’t received your April Social Security pay, this may be normal, as it can be up to 3 days late in the case of being a Social Security beneficiary in the first payment group, last April 10. If you were born before the 11th of any month and have not received your pay, contact Social Security immediately. If you have received it, read on to find out the rest of the month’s payments.
This month’s payments will be like March’s and will be divided equally by date of birth. But who will receive the second April Social Security payment?
April Social Security payments
As of April 1, Social Security beneficiaries began receiving their payments.
On April 3, those who requested their retirement before 1997 received their payments. If it was later, see the April payment dates.
For all other retirees or disability beneficiaries, it will depend on your date of birth. Here is the breakdown:
- Born April 1-10: April 10.
- Born from 11 to 20: April 17.
- Born from 21 to 31: April 24.
It is important to remember that these payments can be delayed up to 3 days.
How to claim a delayed retirement pay?
If our retirement pay has not arrived these days it means that we need to claim the benefit as soon as possible. There are two ways to do this. To go to the second of these ways it is necessary to have checked the first one first.
To begin with, we should ask our bank if there is any problem with the Social Security. Sometimes the bank may withhold the retirement check for various reasons. So before doing anything we should ask the bank about our retirement money.
If the bank has not withheld the money and does not know what is happening with our benefit, it is time to claim the check from Social Security. To do this we will only have to contact by phone or go to a local office.
