The first of the October Social Security payments will arrive in just a few hours. This check will appear in eligible United States households. Not all Americans are eligible for this new Social Security benefit check, as we are talking about Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
Likewise, it is also necessary to keep in mind that the collection method may determine whether we get the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) money immediately on the same day of the payment or we will have to wait a little while to enjoy it. If you have this check accepted, pay attention because you will soon be able to enjoy this monthly benefit.
Who gets the new Supplemental Security Income (SSI)?
Any and all Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients can get the payment on the 1st of October. This is the first payment for the entire month, and we will get a check with the COLA for the 2024 increase added.
We won’t need to do anything else to enjoy the added COLA payment, as the COLA has been added to both Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security payments since the beginning of this year.
Remember that in order to be eligible to get the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment you need to:
- Have low monthly income, as well as low resources.
- Be 65 years of age or older or have a disability.
Also, Social Security sends the money on October 1st, but that does not mean that all Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients will have the money available on the same day. In order to enjoy same-day payment, we will need to have Direct Deposit activated.
Regardless of which collection method we have activated, we will be able to get the money, but sometimes it will be sooner and sometimes later. Also, remember that the $943 check is the maximum SSI we can get, but not all beneficiaries of this benefit get the same amount.
