Social Security payments in the United States have a set date. So, if you are waiting to receive the next of your retirement or disability payments, there is a requirement that you must meet. If you do not meet this requirement, you will not be able to receive your subsidy check this week. Don’t worry, though, because you will receive it. This is the second of the October payments, which means that next week will be the last payment. With this in mind, we should know that there are only three payments from Social Security each month.
This is true if we only take into account retirement or disability benefits. Any other type of economic benefit has its own date. In this case, we are talking about retirement benefits. Therefore, the important fact to know whether you will receive it now or in a week’s time is the date of birth. But not only that, you could even have received it last week. The Social Security Administration always sends payments on time. Therefore, if you were born between the 1st and 10th of the month, you should already have the payment in question in your bank account.
On the other hand, the next payment is tomorrow and is for people born between the 11th and 20th of the month. This means that only by having a birthday between those days you will be able to cash the monthly check in this week. Finally, people born between the 21st and 31st of the month will have the new check available next week, specifically on October 26th.
What do I do if my Social Security is late?
As we have already mentioned, Social Security payments are always made on time. The Administration always sends the money to its beneficiaries on the same days. Just meeting the condition of the day of birth is more than enough to know when we will receive our subsidy. But there are times when payment may be delayed.
Usually, this delay in payment is not due to the Social Security Administration itself. It is very common to see the bank withholding payment of benefits. This may be due to a simple administrative error or because the beneficiary’s personal information is incorrect. To avoid this type of problem, remember to always update all your information both at the bank and in My Social Security.
To resolve these errors, if you have not yet received your benefit, first call your bank to demand a solution. If they cannot help you, then contact your local Social Security office and a worker there will help you with whatever you need.
