Having a new Social Security Disability check in the United States in the next few hours is possible, but only for a specific group of Americans. As usual in these cases, in order to get the new monthly check it is necessary to meet certain requirements.
Thus, meeting these requirements is enough for us to get the Disability check for May 22nd. This check will be the last one of the month, so retirees who do not get this day’s check will have to check if there is any problem with their monthly benefit.
How to get the next Disability payment?
It should be clear that in order to get the new May 22nd Disability payment we must have two requirements. And there are no other requirements for the Social Security Administration to send us a check for this day. Therefore, we have to take a good look at what those conditions are.
In order for us to have clearer ideas, these are the conditions that we have to meet:
- We have to have the birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month.
- We have to have the retirement benefit for Disability or any other reason since May 1997 onwards.
And there are no other requirements, so just fulfilling these two will be enough for the Administration to send us the check for May 22nd. However, if we do not activate Direct Deposit as a collection method, the money will not arrive on the same day, but will take a few days to appear in the current account.
Can I change the day I get my Disability payment?
The truth is that many beneficiaries in the United States want to know if it is possible to change the day on which they receive their monthly payment. Unfortunately, this is not possible. And the reason why it is not possible is very clear: the collection day depends directly on the beneficiary’s personal information.
Since it is not possible to change either the year of retirement or the birthday, Disability retirees cannot change the day on which they get their payment. What they can do is activate Direct Deposit or not in order to get a check as soon as possible.
Likewise, they can also know in advance when in the month they will get the payment. Fortunately, the Social Security payment schedule arrives in advance to your beneficiaries, so we can mark on our personal calendar when the Disability Benefit check will be available to us.
