In just a few days, Social Security retirement and disability beneficiaries in the United States will be able to enjoy some relief. However, only a specific group of retirees will be able to receive the new payment, which the Administration will send before the end of the week. The rest will be able to say goodbye to retirement, at least for now.
We could receive one of these pensions in each of the coming weeks, but everything will depend on the group of retirees we belong to. Social Security organizes different paydays for retirees’ checks, depending on different requirements. This means that if you expect to receive a check soon, you should know that if you do not meet the requirements, you will not be able to receive it.
Therefore, it is worth paying attention to the payment calendar and mandatory requirements to be able to receive each of these payments. Thanks to this very complete and understandable payment calendar, retirees can very easily organize everything related to the family economy. There is no doubt that this system is beneficial for retirees.
Which retirees will not get their Social Security payments this week?
The retirees who will not get their Social Security payments this week are those who belong to three different groups. Considering that there are four groups of retirees in total, we can conclude that only one of those groups is likely to get the next of the payments.
In this case, Social Security beneficiaries in the following groups will not be able to get the payment:
Post-1997 retirees who:
- Have a birthday between the 1st and 10th. This is group 2 and will be paid on February 14th.
- They have a birthday between the 11th and 20th. This is group 3 and will get their benefit on February 21st.
- They will have a birthday between the 21st and 31st. This group is group 4 and will collect their Social Security on the 28th day of February.
Therefore, we can conclude that only pre-1997 retirees can get the next of the retirement payments. So if your benefit is prior to that year, later this week the Social Security Administration will send you a check for up to $4,873. The exact day of mailing will be February 2nd.
Also, we do not need to meet any other requirements to get this payment. That is, whether our check is for Disability or retirement will not matter, since the only thing that matters is the year of retirement. If you are in one of the other groups you will just have to wait until the date indicated above to get your Social Security payment.
Finally, remember to activate Direct Deposit if you are waiting to get a check. Thanks to this collection method you and other retirees will be able to get your payment the same day the Social Security Administration sends it. So don’t forget to do this so you won’t have any delays in collecting your retirement benefits.
