In the United States, due to certain irregularities in the timing of Supplemental Security Income payments, sometimes we may receive two Supplemental Security Income checks in the same month. This is not common, but it can happen, as the Social Security Administration may advance one of these payments. Even though they are advanced, many citizens will not receive this extra Supplemental Security Income because of one important detail.
Even so, it is important to note that what is certain is that the Social Security Administration will send a check earlier. Whether or not they will receive it in advance will depend on the individual. The American who wants to receive the Supplemental Security Income in advance and extra in June must activate a specific collection method.
This collection method is not only for Supplemental Security Income payments, but also for any other type of benefit that Social Security sends. Therefore, this is the best way to collect benefits sent by the government. If we keep this in mind, our Social Security check, whether it is for SSI or retirement, will always arrive on time on the days of the month.
How can I receive the extra Supplemental Security Income?
First of all, it is important to understand that this extra Supplemental Security Income is nothing more than an advance payment for July. SSI payments always arrive on the 1st of the month. At least, the Administration always sends them on that day. Whether or not you receive it at that exact time depends on the method of payment, as we have already mentioned.
But when the 1st of the month is a holiday or a weekend, the Administration sends the SSI payment on the immediately preceding working day. This means that retirees with this benefit can get their check earlier. In the case of June we find this, which means that on the 30th day of the month we can have the next month’s SSI payment.
However, it is not possible to have this check earlier if we have not activated Direct Deposit. Supplemental Security Income payments can come through Direct Deposit or by classic deposit in bank account. Direct Deposit is immediate, which means that any payment sent by the Administration does not take a second to show up in your pocket.
Other Social Security payments in June
In addition to this payment, in the following days in June the Administration will send other checks to beneficiaries. Each of these checks will depend on several factors, but primarily they are checks for retirees.
If we retired before 1997, none of these checks will go to us. Currently, the Administration will only send out two more checks in addition to the July Supplemental Security Income payment.
These two checks will be for the 21st and 28th of the month. To receive the June 21st payment you must have a birthday between the 11th and 20th of the month. On the other hand, the June 28th payment is for beneficiaries born between the 21st and 31st of the month.
