The schedule of United States SSDI payments for the month of May is about to end. This means that after next day’s payment there will be no more payments for these beneficiaries or for any of the other retiree groups.
Still, it is true that we will have an extra payment within the month of January, but only for an exclusive and specific group of United States citizens. So, in just a few hours we can get the last of the SSDI checks for the month of May by just meeting a couple of requirements.
The extra payment will arrive on the last day of May and will only be for a different group. Best of all, one beneficiary can get both checks, so in the case of eligibility the SSDI beneficiary can have both the May 22nd and the May 31st payment.
Who gets the final May SSDI payment?
Only a specific group of United States citizens have access to this particular payment. The payment will be on May 22nd of this year and only retirees in group 4, whether SSDI or other types of retirement, have access to the check.
And to be part of group 4 retirees we have to meet two requirements. There are no other extra requirements, so we don’t have to look at any other information. However, both requirements are absolutely mandatory. If we do not meet them, we will not be able to have the payment for this day.
The requirements are, on the one hand, to have the retirement benefit since after May 1997. On the other hand, it is also mandatory to have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month. Only in this way will we have access to this payment.
How to get the extra SSDI payment in May 2024?
After this May 22nd payment, thousands of Americans can get an extra SSDI-compatible check on May 31st. This last payment of the month is only for Americans with an accepted Supplemental Security Income benefit.
In the event that we have this extra payment accepted, on the 31st we will get an extra check. The reason this happens is because June 1st is a weekend. And days that are weekends or holidays are not days when the Social Security Administration pays checks.
For that reason, the Administration sends this payment to Americans on the immediately preceding business day. Remember that this check is compatible with SSDI, but you do not have to be retired to apply for it.
