Each new month means a new United States Social Security payment schedule. Likewise, reaching the end of each month means that the schedule of these payments comes to an end. There are a limited number of retirement payment mailings for Americans.
And in the next week, the new and last of the United States Social Security retirement payments will arrive. If you are waiting to get your check, it may be because you belong to the last of the groups collecting a monthly benefit.
Eligibility for the last Social Security payment in April
While it is true that this last Social Security retirement payment is for a large number of beneficiaries, it is also true that we need to meet requirements to get it. Thus, only group 4 beneficiaries have access to this new benefit.
So we have to keep in mind that without meeting the requirements we will not be able to get the check. And the first of these requirements is to have the benefit as of May 1997. If our check is from that day onwards, we would meet the first of the requirements.
But that is not the only requirement to get this payment from Social Security. In addition to that we also have to have a birthday between the 21st and 31st. The month of birth does not matter, nor does the year. The important thing in these cases is only the day of birth.
Can I get my Social Security payment quickly?
It is true that the Social Security Administration will send this payment on the 24th day of the month, but getting it on the same day it is sent depends on whether we have activated Direct Deposit or not. This collection method is the fastest of all and allows us to have the money available immediately.
If we do not have Direct Deposit activated, we will also get the payment, but not on the same day of payment, but a few days later. In general, it takes about 3 days for the check to appear in our checking account. Sometimes it could be longer.
After the April 24th payment we will have to wait until May to see a new Social Security benefit mailing. Therefore, we will no longer have new checks for this benefit within the current month.
