The Social Security Administration’s second payment day for United States retirement beneficiaries is today. And this means that thousands of United States citizens are already enjoying this benefit. But in the event that we meet a requirement, today’s payday payment will not arrive today, but a little later.
These types of payments usually take a little while to arrive, but it also depends on the personal circumstances of each beneficiary. Getting one of these retirement payments on a specific day of each month depends on whether we meet the requirements. Each Social Security payment day has its own requirements. So, having your check accepted means you meet one of those requirements.
The important thing is to know the exact day on which we might have the payment available. In total, the Social Security Administration sends out four different checks during the month. Knowing what our payment day is is very easy, since it is enough to just look at the requirements established by the United States Administration.
Social Security requirements to get a new retirement payment
As we have already mentioned, today was the collection day for thousands of United States citizens. This means that the Social Security Administration has sent checks to a specific group of retirees. Those retirees who have activated Direct Deposit already have the money available, if they also belong to the specific group of Americans.
However, in order to get this payment in the next few days we have to meet these requirements:
- Have a benefit after May 1997.
- Have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of any month.
- Not have Direct Deposit activated.
If we meet all three requirements, we will be able to collect Social Security in the next few days. If, on the other hand, we meet the first two requirements but we do have Direct Deposit activated, the money should already be available in our checking account.
After this payment day we could get the check on the 15th or on the 22nd of May. It all depends on whether we are eligible to be part of the Social Security group on either of these two days.
