Although the United States Social Security Administration has a fixed schedule for retirement payments for all beneficiaries, sometimes we may encounter exceptions. In the case of exceptions, the Administration announces them in advance, so we can plan our month’s economy without worries.
Likewise, it is also true that not all the days of the June payment calendar have changes. Only one of these days has changes, so we should simply pay attention to that particular day. But if we are not part of retiree group 3 we will not have to worry about the change, since it only affects this group.
Remaining Social Security payments and changes to the payment schedule
In total, the Administration will send out three more Social Security payments in the near future. These payments can be for all types of retirees, so it doesn’t matter whether we have a check for Disability, Widowed or some other reason. What does matter is that we meet two requirements. And on each of these days the requirements are slightly different.
These are the remaining days in June when we can get a retirement payment:
- June 12th. The payment on this day is for post-May 1997 beneficiaries with birthdays between the 1st and 10th.
- June 18th. Beneficiaries with a post-May 1997 benefit and birthdays between the 11th and 20th may get payment on this day. This is an exception, since it should actually be on the 19th of June, which is the third Wednesday of the month. But that particular day is a holiday.
- June 26th. The last Social Security payment for the entire month is for beneficiaries with birthdays between the 21st and 31st, as well as a benefit from after May 1997.
Therefore, we can conclude that payments for certain groups will go out on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. But on the third Wednesday of the month there will be no retirement benefit mailings. This is due to the celebration of the 19th of June, as it is a national holiday.
Still, there is nothing to worry about, since the benefit for this day will arrive on the immediately preceding business day, which will be May 18. The Social Security Administration will send it on that day, so we will have nothing to worry about.
