When tax season in the United States begins, IRS workers have to check a lot of different documentation. Millions of United States citizens are sending in their paperwork in hopes of getting a stimulus check in the form of a Tax Refund and meeting their tax obligations at the same time.
In order for All United States citizens to be able to pay their taxes on time, the IRS provides them with a series of helps that allow them to send the Tax Refund earlier or, at least, to better understand their economic situation. But there are several tips to keep in mind if we want to avoid scammers who are thinking of stealing our Tax Refund and our identity. These are the tips:
- Don’t access suspicious internet sites with your personal information.
- If you get an email asking you to make payments directly, avoid it.
- The IRS will never ask you to pay taxes with gift cards or any other suspicious payment method.
- If you need help and seek out an advisor, make sure the advisor is officially registered.
Also, scammers can pop up anywhere, so always be on your guard. Remember that you can report any suspicious site on the Internet anonymously to prevent others from falling into the trap as well.
When does the Tax Season begin?
Those United States citizens who are waiting to send their Tax Refund to the IRS will have to wait very soon. The Tax Season will start this January. Therefore, we are only a few weeks away from the start of this season and we will be able to both pay our taxes and get a stimulus check with the Tax Refund for the year 2023.
The exact day on which the Tax Season will begin will be January 29, 2024. Also, the end of this regular season will be April 14, at least for most citizens. Some United States citizens will be able to ask for an extension of time, but it is not something that All United States citizens can get.
On the other hand, remember to have everything ready by the time the Tax Season starts. If you have all your documentation ready and send it through the IRS online portal, it is possible that the Tax Refund will arrive much sooner.
