Once the IRS opens Tax Season for United States citizens, it is a good idea to file the Tax Return as soon as possible. There is no clear advantage to filing the Tax Return later, so doing it as soon as possible may be the best possible option.
By the time the IRS starts getting the Tax Return documentation we may find ourselves with a stimulus check a few days later. However, there is a deadline to be able to send these Tax Return documents. After that day we could have problems in terms of fines and penalties.
So we must not forget that the Tax Season has an opening and closing date. Taking this into account, we will be able to mark in our personal calendar the days in which we will have access to send the Tax Return to the IRS without having to pay payments and penalties.
Even so, sending this documentation on time does not imply that we are going to have attorney advantages. It could be the case that we have to pay taxes and we do not get a stimulus check from the IRS. It all depends on the individual situation.
When will the IRS Tax Season end?
The IRS opened last January 29th the Tax Season where to send the documentation for 2023. Since then, Americans have been sending all the papers related to their Tax Return. That is, the documentation on the previous year’s taxes.
#FriendlyReminder: Because of the Patriots’ Day and Emancipation Day holidays, residents of Maine and Massachusetts have until April 17 to file 2023 #IRS tax returns. The tax deadline for most other people is April 15, 2024. https://t.co/pXN7UqUuva

Everything related to the 2024 taxes has nothing to do with this Tax Return, since that will be from 2025. Taking into account the starting point of the Tax Season we must also take into account the end point.
And although in some States Americans can send the Tax Return later, the date for the majority will be the 15th of April. The exception in some states means that the calendar may end on April 17, 2024.
Whatever the case, remember to send the IRS all of your documentation early. The consequences can be negative for all Americans who do not do this documentation on time.
It is also possible to request an extension of time in case we need it. This will give us an extra 6 months to send the Tax Return documentation to the IRS.
