On April 17th, 2024, the Social Security Administration will send a new Disability payment to beneficiaries in the United States. But this payment will not be for all American Disability retirees, it will only be for a specific group.
If we are thinking about getting one of these checks, we must take into account the requirements we need to meet in order to get it. If we are part of this group of retirees we will be able to collect the payment. If not, we will have to wait for another day to get this Disability payment in April.
How to get the April 17th Disability payment?
This April 17th check has two requirements. The first of these requirements is related to the year of retirement. The other requirement is related to the beneficiary’s birthday. These two pieces of information are the key to knowing which group of retirees we belong to.
Each group of retirees collects on a different day and the second group of Disability beneficiaries collect on April 17th. Likewise, the other types of retirees can also collect on this day. What is important are the two requirements mentioned above.
And if we talk about exact requirements, on April 17th we must take into account that it is mandatory to have a birthday between the 11 and 20 of any month, as well as a retirement benefit as of May 1997. There is no other extra requirement for the Social Security Administration to send us this check.
What is the maximum Disability payment in April 2024?
Each of the benefits that the Social Security Administration sends out for Disability is totally different. Because the benefit payments are individualized, the retirement check is not the same for everyone.
In the case of Disability benefits, the maximum check is $3,822. But since each retiree has a different benefit it is not usual to collect such a high amount. So everyone gets their own benefit and it is important to keep this in mind.
If instead of the Disability payment we are going to get an Age Retirement check, the payment can reach $4,873. But such a high amount is not suitable for all Social Security beneficiaries.
