United States citizens entitled to a Social Security retirement benefit receive it once a month. This is the same situation as when they were workers. Every month, the Social Security Administration sends the money payment to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts. But the SSA does not send all the payments at the same time. Depending on the day of the month you were born, you will receive your retirement benefit earlier or later.
The first retirement benefit payment is received by those born between the 1st and 10th of the month. The second payment is sent by the Social Security Administration to persons born between the 11th and 20th of the month. Finally, people born between the 21st and 30th of the month will receive the third payment of all. Thus, it is easy to know when you will receive your payment simply by knowing your date of birth.

When do people with birthdays between the 1st and 10th receive Social Security?
The first of these retirement payments is sent by the SSA on the second Wednesday of the month. It always follows this same formula, so every month it is exactly the same. If you were born between these two days, you will receive your retirement or disability benefit on the second Wednesday of the month. Even though the Social Security Administration sends the payment on that day, you could receive it up to 3 days later.
Price inflation does not affect benefit payments. There are no delays in this regard, at least for the time being, so you will continue to collect your retirement benefit on time. If your birthday falls on a different date, you will receive your payment on one of the following Wednesdays. It all depends on your birthday.
When will I receive my benefit?
We have already mentioned that for people born between the 1st and 10th of the month, the Social Security Administration sends the benefit on the second Wednesday of the month. For people born between the 11th and 20th of the month, the SSA sends the money on the third Wednesday of the month. Finally, for people born between the 21st and 31st, the payment is sent on the fourth Wednesday of the month. As you can see, payments are always sent on a Wednesday.
As far as SSI is concerned, the Social Security Administration does not send the payment on Wednesdays, but on the 1st day of the month. It doesn’t matter if it is Wednesday, Thursday or some other day of the week. The only exception in these cases is if the 1st is a Sunday or a holiday. In the latter particular case, SSA sends the money on the immediately preceding business day.
