In March the Social Security Administration will send new payments to all groups of retirees. In order to collect one of these payments we will need to meet the requirements established by the United States government. If we have an accepted retirement benefit, we do not have to worry.
Sooner or later, we will get the Social Security money in our checking account. This is because the government sends the checks without delay. However, whether we receive the payment sooner or later depends on certain characteristics.
In total, the Social Security Administration will send 4 different checks. These checks are for retirees, but there is an extra check that will go to a different group of Americans. This other check is not for retirees, although retirees can also collect it.
March Social Security Payment Schedule
Being born on one day or another will get you your March Social Security payment sooner or later, as we have already discussed. Therefore, we must know the payment schedule well to determine which group we belong to and when we will get the monthly benefit.
In the March 2023 Social Security payment schedule we will find a total of 5 payments of different benefits. These are the days:
- March 1st. Supplemental Security Income payment.
- March 1st. Payment of the first Social Security check for retirees. To get this payment you must have applied for the benefit before May 1997.
- March 13. Check for retirees after May 1997. Also required to have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- March 20th. Check for retirees after May 1997. Also required between the 11th and the 20th of the month.
- March 27th. Check for retirees after May 1997. It is also mandatory to have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month.
With this information you can mark on the calendar the exact day the Social Security Administration sends us the check. Once we know the exact day, we only have to organize our finances around it.
Remember that if you activate Direct Deposit you will be able to enjoy the money immediately. It is also good to keep in mind that you may be able to collect both checks this month on the 1st if you meet the requirements.
