Email or also known as electronic mail is an internet application, which allows users to receive and send messages electronically or through the internet. Having an email account today is important alongside instant messaging like WhatsApp. Gmail is one of the most used applications by users and therefore we tell you how to create a Gmail account with free storage to be able to save our documents.
Steps to open a Gmail account
To create an email account in Gmail from your computer, you will need to log in through your computer’s browser and create a Google account.
A window will then appear asking you for the following:
Name and Lastname.
User name (use a name according to the use you are going to give it). You can use letters, numbers and points. If the name is already taken it will warn you and you will have to try until you find one that is not being used.
Password (which must be at least eight characters long and combine letters, numbers and a @ symbol) and confirmation of registration. Then click on next.
A page will then open asking for your mobile phone number to send you a text message with a 6-digit verification code. When you hit next, you will have to enter the code you received on your mobile.
On the next screen you will be asked for several more details:
Mobile phone number and another recovery email (optional).
Date of birth and sex (compulsory).
After filling in these details, the Privacy and Conditions rules will appear, which you will have to accept in order to continue. This appears at the back of the screen. Click on create account and it will be created.
Modify your personal information in Gmail
On the screen that shows you now, there will be several options in which you are, modify your personal information, your privacy and security data.
To access the email, you must click on the first icon that appears at the top right of your computer screen. A menu will be displayed with other icons, which are the different applications offered by Google. Click on the envelope, where it says Gmail. When you enter, you will be given the option of configuring the view of your mail, click on next and you will be able to send and receive mail normally.
To exit the account, there is a round icon in the upper right-hand area where you will see the option «close session». To re-enter your Gmail, you must sign in to the same area where you closed it.
