The timing of payments to beneficiaries for a United States Disability check depends on several elements. In this regard, each beneficiary belongs to a particular group of Americans.
And the Social Security Administration sends checks to different groups on different days of the month. Thus, each Disability beneficiary gets his or her benefit earlier or later depending on the group to which he or she belongs.
In order to know which group we belong to, we must take into account two aspects. The first is the year of retirement. The second aspect is the day of birth. In total, there are four different groups of retirees who get their benefit throughout the month.
While this is true, it is also good to note that it does not matter whether the benefit we have is for Disability or for some other reason. So the type of retirement does not matter in determining which Social Security group we belong to.
How do I get my February 21st Disability check?
The payment that the Social Security Administration will send on February 21st will be only for retirees in the third group. This group has very specific characteristics. Therefore, if you do not belong to this group, you will not be able to get this new check.
The characteristics of the beneficiaries of this group are:
- To have a check as of May 1997.
- To have a birthday between the 11th and 21st day of any month.
And there are no other mandatory requirements for the Administration to send us this check for Disability. Likewise, any other retiree can have the payment on this day if they meet both requirements. So, we can already mark on the calendar if the maximum check of $3,822 will come to us next February 21st.
Social Security will send another payment in February
After the February 21st payment, the Social Security Administration will send one more retirement payment on February 28th. However, this will be the last check for Disability and other retirement beneficiaries for the entire month.
In order to collect the February 28th check, we will have to meet two requirements. One of those requirements coincides with the February 21st payment requirements. So if you want the February 28th Disability benefit we must have had the check since after 1997. And, in addition, the birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month.
Remember, it doesn’t matter if the Social Security benefit is for Disability or not to get this check. Any other retirement is valid if both requirements are met. There are no other requirements other than these two for the Administration to send us this check.
