Across the United States, a new month on the calendar means a new Social Security Supplemental Security Income payment. Therefore, it is always good news for all those Americans who are waiting to receive their benefit again. The Supplemental Security Income check is undoubtedly one of the most useful checks because it always reaches the neediest Americans.
When we start collecting the Supplemental Security Income payment, we must always keep in mind the 1st of each month. The Social Security Administration sends out checks for this benefit on this day of the month. However, there are times when this can change a bit. When there are some irregularities in the calendar, the payment may arrive on different days.
And this is the main reason why in September we might receive two different Supplemental Security Income checks. Still, even when the Social Security Administration sends two different checks, some Americans will not receive double SSI in this month. In order to achieve this goal, one condition must be met.
HOW TO GET TWO SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY INCOME CHECKS IN SEPTEMBER?
The first condition to be able to get the double Supplemental Security Income check in September is to have the benefit accepted. It may seem silly to say, but sometimes recipients have not yet had their benefits accepted and think they will receive them.
We need to have it accepted beforehand. Once it is accepted, what we need to do is to activate Direct Deposit. If we do not activate Direct Deposit, we will not be able to receive the benefit twice in September. Social Security will send two checks, but we will not be able to receive it within this month.
WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM SSI AMOUNT?
When applying for Supplemental Security Income, we will always have to prove our monthly income. This is because the monthly payment of this check depends on our income.
The maximum SSI check is $914 per month. However, there is no minimum check. This means that the benefit could be very small. If we want to find out if we qualify for the benefit, we can use Best Tool.
However, this website does not tell us what the total amount of the benefit will be. In order to know this we need to apply for the check and eventually we will receive the acceptance and the total amount.
After the Social Security Administration accepts the application, we will receive our Supplemental Security Income check on the 1st of each month. That is if we activate Direct Deposit. Otherwise, we will have to wait a few more days to receive it in our pocket.
