Social Security benefits, SSI or otherwise, do not always reach all United States citizens. In order to receive each of these checks, we need to meet the established requirements. This does not mean that if we cash a check one month, it could be that the next month we will stop cashing it.
The usual thing in these cases is that if we have the benefit previously accepted we will be able to receive the payments every month, whether it is SSI or any other. Even so, it is true that the Supplemental Security Income check is a bit special in this respect. Some Americans may stop receiving it from one month to the next if their situation changes.
So be sure to check your SSI benefits to see if you are among the group of Americans who will not receive a payment. In that case, you will either have to claim your benefit or you simply won’t be able to receive it anymore. Each situation is completely personal and individual, so you may need to contact the government to resolve the problem.
WHO WILL RECEIVE THE NEXT SSI?
The next Supplemental Security Income check is for all citizens who have an accepted SSI benefit. This means that if you have an accepted SSI check, you will receive payment on the upcoming September 1st. However, keep in mind that you could lose the right to receive this payment if you do not meet all the requirements.
To qualify for monthly Social Security SSI, you must be at least 65 years old or have a disability, and you must have a low monthly income. If we fail to meet one of the requirements, we will stop receiving the Supplemental Security Income check.
In this sense, citizens who have more monthly income could lose their check. Also, if a citizen with a disability recovers from her situation, she will not receive the Supplemental Security Income payment either.
In short, if you have the benefit accepted, there is nothing to worry about. Unlike pensioner payments, which the Administration sends in a staggered schedule, SSI payments arrive on the same day for all Americans. And don’t forget to activate Direct Deposit so you don’t have to wait a day and have the money available right away.
If you do not activate Direct Deposit, it will take up to three days for your SSI or other Social Security payments to arrive. Recipients will receive their benefit, but it will likely take much longer to arrive than if we activate this option.
