Within the United States Social Security payment schedule we find a large number of different checks. Each check goes to a specific citizen and in order to receive one of these payments we must meet certain requirements. The Social Security Administration pays these checks on different days to ensure a smooth distribution and to avoid delays in general.
In the month of August we are faced with the same amount as always when it comes to determining payments. In total, the Social Security Administration has sent out checks on four different days in August. These days have been August 3rd, 9th, 16th and 23rd. Retirees who have the benefit should have received their payment on one of those days.
However, there are times when the check could arrive late or not at all. If at any time Social Security does not reach our pocket on time we can always claim the payment to have it as soon as possible. In the event that we really deserve to receive the payment we will get it by claiming it. There are two ways to request a late payment and to do so we must request it in order.
HOW TO CLAIM MY LATE CHECK FROM SOCIAL SECURITY?
As we have already discussed, there are two ways to request late checks from Social Security. The first is through the bank and the second way is through the SSA itself. When it comes to claiming payments, we must always follow an order and not claim to the Administration first.
The Administration sends the payments on time. So delays are usually the fault of the banks. Therefore, first we should contact our bank to ask if there is any problem with the pensioner’s money. If they do not know how to answer or if the money has not come in, then we should contact the Administration.
When we go to contact the Administration we have two main options. The first is to go to a local office. The second is through the internet or by telephone. Either option should help us without any problems.
WHAT TO DO TO AVOID DELAYS IN THE PENSIONER’S PENSION?
On many occasions, delays in pension payments can be the fault of the pensioner himself. There are several things to keep in mind when cashing a Social Security check. To avoid delays, keep this in mind:
- Update personal information. If our personal information changes, we must always update it. This is true for both the bank and the SSA.
- Do not have debts. If we have debts, it is possible that the bank will hold our money.
- Know the payment schedule. When we know on what day we will cash a check, we can better control the situation.
- Activate Direct Deposit. It is the fastest method of collection of all, so activating it will help us.
With these tips, your Social Security check will not be late most of the time.
