The United States Social Security Administration will send a new check to retirees in a few days. This new check will be for Americans born between the 1st and 10th of the month, but another extra requirement must also be met in order to get this new payment. The other requirement is not related to the date of birth, but to the year of retirement.
Therefore, not any American with a birthday between these two days is entitled to get the payment in the next week. The Social Security Administration divides retirees into two large groups. The second of this large group is further divided into three different groups. Thus, the next group to collect is part of this second large group.
Therefore, in addition to having a birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month, it is necessary to be part of this second group. However, Americans who are not part of this group need not worry. The payment will still arrive, but on a different day of the month. The important thing in these cases is to have the benefit accepted and, of course, to know the Social Security payment schedule.
Requirements for the next Social Security payment
As we have already mentioned, the first of these requirements is to have your birthday between the 1st and 10th of any month. The month of birth does not matter, nor does the month in which the retiree was born. The only important thing is the exact day. If we were born in May we will get the payment for the remaining months. Likewise, the year of birth is totally irrelevant to be part of this group.
However, the other requirement is indispensable. If we want to get this payment, we have to be part of the second large group of retirees. May 1997 is the point of difference between these two groups. Any retiree prior to that month gets their payment on the first of the month. However, retirees since May 1997 are divided into three different groups and the next day’s retiree is the first of these three groups.
In short, in order to collect the next February 14th, 2024 payment we have to meet two requirements. The first is to reach the age between the 1st and the 10th of the month. The second is to have retired from May 1997 onwards. This is the only way to obtain this check. If we do not meet the requirements, Social Security may arrive, yes, but on a different day of the month of February.
