A group of United States citizens can get the new Social Security payment with an extra $59 directly and without taking any action. By meeting all the requirements, a retiree can get this check and have it in the bank account today. This can make thousands of retirees have enough money to spend on whatever they need.
If you have some bills to pay and are waiting to get a Social Security payment, you may be able to get the money in your pocket today. To find out if this information is true, you should look directly at the requirements for each check. The days of payment of retirement benefits depend on several aspects and if we take this into account we just have to look at all the conditions to know if we will have the money soon.
In case we are not part of the group of retirees who receive their Social Security check today, it is possible that we will get it soon. Remember that the Administration sends up to 4 different payments to retirees on 4 different days. And we can only get one of those payments, so each payment is separate and safely in our pocket. Do you know which group of retirees you belong to yet?
Social Security Payments Arriving Today
Payments with an average increase of $59 from Social Security will arrive today only for group 2 beneficiaries who have not activated Direct Deposit. The payment left the Administration’s office yesterday, January 10th, so beneficiaries with Direct Deposit already have the money available from that time.

So if you do not have Direct Deposit activated but you are part of group 2 of retirees, you could get the money today. To do that, you just have to have had the check since after 1997, plus you have to have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of any given month. This is the only way we could get the payment not only today, but even tomorrow or in the next few days.
The rest of the retirees will get their payment in the following weeks depending on the group they belong to. Group 3 retirees, the group of beneficiaries with birthdays between the 11th and 20th and a post-1997 benefit, get their check on January 17th. The last group will get their benefit on the 24th day of the month, which is the group of retirees with birthdays between the 21st and 31st.
Why is there an increase in retirement?
The extra money we are talking about is none other than the 2024 COLA increase. This increase is 3.2% over last year’s benefits. The increase in these checks is by percentage, so each retiree gets a totally different increase.
If we have an average check it is normal for the benefit increase to be around $59, but this is not always the case. That increase is higher or lower depending on whether the Social Security check is higher or lower.
The important thing in these cases is that each retiree gets his or her corresponding benefit. Whether the increase is higher or lower, the checks will always arrive on different days depending on the group of retirees to which we belong. So if you don’t get your check this week, Social Security will probably send it in one of the next few weeks before the end of January 2024.
