As soon as a United States citizen begins to collect an SSDI check, he or she can find out at what time of the month the Administration will send his or her checks. The payments of this benefit arrive on different days to the retirees depending on the group of beneficiaries to which they belong. In total there are 4 groups of retirees and each of them will collect their checks in August.
However, the exact day of the collection depends directly on the group, so we must check the payment calendar to obtain all the information we need. In just a few hours the Social Security Administration will send the first of these payments to SSDI beneficiaries, so we must check the requirements to obtain it.
And in the case of not belonging to this group of retirees we will always be able to get the check in the next few weeks. In short, if you are waiting to get your August check you may have to wait just a few hours or a few weeks. It all depends on which SSDI retiree group you belong to.
Who gets the new SSDI payment in August?
The new August SSDI payment will be on the 2nd of this month. This will be the first payment sent by the Social Security Administration to SSDI recipients. After this day we will have three more payment days for these retirees, although it is possible to get an extra check at the end of the month.
But what we must be clear about is that if our benefit is prior to May 1997, the check on August 2nd is for us. It is only possible to get this day’s check under these circumstances. Therefore, if we are part of this group we will be congratulated, but if we are not, we will just have to wait a little bit until we get this benefit.
The maximum SSDI check in the month of August 2024 is $3,822, although each beneficiary gets a different payment. If you are expecting to get one of these checks in this month you should know that you will get the same amount as in the previous month. But starting in January of next year you will have access to a new amount that will increase based on the COLA and inflation in 2023.
Remaining SSDI payments in August 2024
After the August 2nd payment, the Social Security Administration will send out more payments before the end of August. The remaining payments will be for all other retiree groups. If you are in SSDI retiree group 2, 3, or 4, your payment will arrive on August 14th, 21st, or 28th.
Remember that to belong to one group of retirees to another the important information is the year of retirement and the day of birth. So, depending on this information, you will get a payment sooner or later from the Social Security Administration for one of these days.
